Periodontal-orthodontic Combined Treatment for Stage Ⅳ Periodontitis Patient with Pathological Tooth Migration: A Case Report with 42-Month Follow-up

摘要： 本文报道42个月随访周期的牙周正畸联合治疗广泛型慢性重度牙周炎(Ⅳ期,C级)伴病理性牙移位患者1例。经过完善的牙周基础治疗及牙周再生手术改善患者牙周状况,又通过实施牙周辅助加速成骨正畸手术(periodontal accelerated osteogenic orthodontics, PAOO),实现前牙软硬组织增量,为正畸治疗保驾护航,最终改善了患者的咬合关系、咀嚼功能和前牙美观。

Abstract: This article reported a case of combined periodontal-orthodontic treatment in a patient with stage Ⅳ periodontitis with pathological tooth migration and Angle class Ⅰ malocclusion. Initial periodontal therapy, flap surgery, guided tissue regeneration (GTR) and periodontal accelerated osteogenic orthodontics (PAOO) were carried out before orthodontic treatment. After the periodontal status was improved, the patient was treated with invisible orthodontic appliances. Combined periodontal-orthodontic treatment yields outcomes of periodontal tissue health, aesthetics of the teeth and occlusal balance for patients.
