Abstract: Objective: To investigate the oral health quality and influencing factors of elderly patients, and to provide reference for health education in hospitals. Methods: A total of 284 elderly patients with neurology and neurosurgery in 6 large-scale tertiary general hospitals in 6 cities of Shanxi Province were selected by convenient sampling method. The adapted WHO Oral Health Survey.5th version was used to investigate. The factors affecting the oral health quality of patients were analyzed by single factor analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple stepwise regression analysis. Results: (1) The mean score of oral health quality in elderly patients were 3.52±1.64; (2) The number of teeth, activities of daily living (ADL), and changes in patient role after admission were identified as the predictors of the oral health quality of elderly patients (P<0.05), which could explain 13.3% of the variance. Conclusion: The oral health quality of non-intubated elderly patients in this area is at a medium level, which is influenced by many factors, focusing on elderly patients with insufficient number of teeth, low self-care ability, and poor role transition after admission.
