HMGB 1在舌鳞状上皮癌中的表达及临床意义

Expression of HMGB1 in Tongue Squamous Cell Carcinoma

摘要: 目的:探讨舌鳞癌中高迁移率族蛋白1(HMGB1)的表达及其对淋巴结转移和疾病转归的关系。方法:收集51例有完整临床及随访资料的舌鳞癌石蜡标本,采用免疫组织化学染色法观察HMGB1在不同分类的口腔鳞癌组织中的表达,并分析HMGB1与肿瘤分化程度、淋巴结转移及患者预后之间的关系。结果:HMGB1在舌鳞癌组织中呈高表达,阳性率92.2%;HMGB1表达与肿瘤分化程度在统计学上无显著相关性;有淋巴结转移的高表达率为81.2% ,无淋巴结转移的高表达率为32.6%,其差异具有统计学意义(P<0.05)。高表达HMGB1的舌鳞癌患者较低表达者转归差,其生存率较低(P<0.05)。结论:舌鳞癌组织中HMGB1与淋巴结转移及转归密切相关; HMG1的表达在一定程度上可用作反映舌鳞癌预后的重要生物学指标。

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the expression and biological significance of HMGB1 proteinin tissue specimens of tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC), and study the correlation between HMGB1 and clinical features of the patients. Methods: The expression of HMGB1 protein was evaluated by immunohistochemical staining in 51 cases of TSCC specimens and further correlated with clinical pathologic parameters of the patients using statistical methods. Results: The positive rates of HMGB1 in TSCC tissues were 92.2%. The expression of HMGB1 was not significantly correlated with tumor histological differentiation, however it was closely correlated with lymph node metastasis (P<0.05) in TSCC. There were 81.2% high expression of HMGB1 in lymph node metastasis, while only 32.6 % in no metastasis cases. The Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that patients with strong expression of HMGB1 had poorer overall survival rate compared with that in patients with relatively low HMGB1 expression (P<0.05) . Conclusion: HMGB1 over-expression was closely associated with metastasis and poorer prognosis inpatients with TSCC.
