Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of post-extraction alveolar preservation on periapical cyst -affected tooth with the aid of Bio - Oss Collagen and GBR technique. Methods: 28 patients were randomly devided into experimental group and control group. After extraction of periapical cyst-affected tooth, the experimental group received Bio-Oss Collagen treatment and GBR while control group received no post-extraction treatment. Results: Postoperative observation of both groups indicated a better bone regeneration and less alveolar ridge height loss in the experimental group. Conclusion: Post-extraction alveolar preservation might be recommended for alveolar ridge regeneration after periapical cyst-affected tooth were extracted.
