Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the application value of ultrasonic scalpel in the harvesting of thigh flap. Methods: We applied focus ultrasonic scalpel in 20 cases for the harvesting of anterolateral thigh flap from August 2013 to August 2014. The ultrasonic scalpel was used to cut vastus lateral muscle and close the side branches of vessel pedicle. Results: There were less eschar, no smoke, no muscle twitching and no obvious bleeding in the cutting the muscle; There were good hemostatic effect, without ligation in the closing side branches of vessel pedicle in these 20 cases. Conclusion: The advantages of using focus ultrasonic scalpel were time-saving, less bleeding, small surgical trauma and quick recovery comparing to traditional method.
