Abstract: Objective: To explore the application effects of PDCA circle method in reducing the incidence of dry socket following the extraction of mandibular impacted third molars. Methods: We collected material, found problem, analyzed the reason, set plan, organized and implemented the plan, and evaluated the effects using PDCA circulation method. 1186 mandibular impacted third molars were divided into improvement group (n=602) and control group (n=584). The incidences of dry socket within two groups were compared. Results: The incidence of dry socket in the improvement group was 4.4%, and that in the control group was 9.6%. There was significant difference between two groups (P<0.01). Conclusion: The PDCA circulation method is effective in reducing the incidence of dry socket following removal of mandibular impacted wisdom teeth, which is an effective way to improve the quality of medical treatment.
