Abstract: Fibronectin is an adhesive extracellular matrix glycoprotein. Its primary gene transcription is alternatively spliced in three regions: designated EDA, EDB and IIICS. EDA is associated with a variety of cellular processes, such as embryogenesis, malignancy and wound healing. Here we discuss the biological properties and possible application of EDA.
