Abstract: Bacterial endotoxin plays an important role in the development of pulpitis and periapical periodontitis. The exploration of the pathogenesis of endotoxin and the elimination of endotoxin from the root canal system could contribute the success of root canal treatment and the long-term postoperative effect. In this review, the research progress on the pathogenic mechanism and the removing of bacterial endotoxin in pulpitis and periapical periodontitis was mainly introduced.
