Application of Superhydrophobic Materials in Stomatology

Abstract: Superhydrophobic materials has unique properties such as hydrophobicity, self-cleaning, and antibacterial effects, whose surface water contact angle (WCA) was more than 150° and rolling angle was less than 10°. In recent years, with the in-depth study of superhydrophobic materials, its application in the medical material field has gradually increased, which also points out the direction to design and development of new materials for stomatology. This article reviews the application of superhydrophobic materials in stomatology, with hope to lay the solid foundation for its usage in this field.
