Abstract: Bone is a kind of dynamic active tissue, which could maintain mineralization balance and self-structure stability by sustaining bone remodeling. Autophagy is a process of self-lysis depending on the cells' lysosomal which plays an important role in the function of bone cells. The breaking of the autophagy balance is closely related to the development of bone diseases. Therefore, it is of great theoretical significance and practical value to fully understand the role of autophagy in the regulation of bone tissues. Thus, in this paper, the formation of the autophapy, the relationship between of the autophagy and the bone cells and the mechanism of autophagy in bone diseases are reviewed as well, in order to further explore the regulation of autophagy during the treatments about bone diseases.
