Abstract: Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of multi-point radiofrequency ablation in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. Methods: 64 patients who suffered from trigeminal neuralgia were included in this study. They were randomly divided into two groups, 32 patients in the treatment group and 32 patients in the control group. Patients in the treatment group were treated with multi-point radiofrequency ablation while those in the control group were treated by nerve blocking. The efficacy in two groups was compared after treatment. Results:The VAS scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group. One day after multi-point radiofrequency ablation, the VAS score in the treatment group decreased from 8.52±2.25 to 2.21±2.05. The effective rate was 96.9%. While the VAS score in the control group decreased from 8.48±2.16 to 4.23±2.12 and the effective rate was 65.6%. There were significant differences between two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion:The multi-point radiofrequency ablation is more effective in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, meanwhile with fewer complications and higher security.
