Abstract: Objective: To study the salivary microbial community structure in adult periodontitis patients between Dongxiang and Yugurs in Gansu province. Methods: By constructing 16S rRNA gene clone library, we ananlyzed the sequencing results of DP(Dongxiang periodontitis samples) and YP(Yugurs periodontitis samples). Results: Streptococcus were detected in all 10 samples. There was a significant difference (P<0.05) of Actinobacillus (DP: 0.00%, YP: 3.30%), Neisseria (DP: 10.40%, YP: 3.60%) and Veillonella (DP: 0.40% , YP: 3.85%) between the two groups. Conclusion: There might be a certain difference of oral microbial community structure between Dongxiang and Yugurs periodontitis. And the roles of Streptococcus, Actinobacillus, Neisseria and Veillonella in the oral cavity of periodontitis patients may deserve further study.
