Abstract: Objective: To study the connection between the changes of alkaline phosphatase, bone gla protein, calcium and the formation of new bone. Methods: The specimen of sutural expansion osteogenesis (SEO) were ground into flour, centrifugalized, and then the quantitatively measured the level of alkaline phosphate (ALP), bone gla protein (BGP) and calcium (Ca). Results: The ALP level was raised after 1 week, culminated at (3.42±0.35)U/g after 3 weeks and descended obviously after 5 weeks. The BGP level was raised after 3 weeks, culminated at (74.86±2.71)ng/g after 5 weeks and descended obviously after 8 weeks. The Ca content was raised gradually, and closed to the level of control group after 8 weeks. Conclusion: Much ALP and BGP are formed in sequence in the course of SEO, and then the expanded sutures are calcified rapidly, which accelerates the form of new bone.
