Abstract: Magnesium alloys have good biocompitability and biodegradation, the elastic modulous of which is similar to normal bone tissue. They can also promote new bone formation, thus show great prospects as bone implant materials. This review summarizes the properties and osteogenesis phenomena and mechanism of magnesium alloys.
