Abstract: Objective: To study the effect of Nd:YAG laser-activated root canal irrigation on fiber post bonding.Method: Twenty single-rooted teeth were collected and divided into two groups according to the final irrigant activation protocols after root canal preparation: conventional syringe irrigation with 2.5% NaOCl and Nd:YAG laser irrigation with 2.5%NaOCl.After root canal obturation and fiber post bonding, the specimens were sectioned and subjected to push-out test. The fractured mode was observed. Results: The bonding strength of Nd:YAG laser-activated irrigation group was higher than that of control group.Analysis indicated that the predominant failure mode was the mixed type. Conclusion: Nd:YAG laser-activated irrigation can improve the bonding strength of fiber posts.
