Abstract: Objective: To explore the application of 3D surgical guide plate in periodontal corticotomy. Methods: Twenty orthodontic patients admitted to our hospital were collected and divided into control group (A) and test group (B). Group A received traditional corticotomy, while group B received 3D guide plate combined with minimally invasive corticotomy. PPD, mGI, oral health quality of life, and scar score of two groups of patients were recorded before operation, 6 weeks, 12 weeks, and 24 weeks after operation, respectively. Results: Before operation, there was no significant difference between two groups. There was no significant difference in PPD and mGI between two groups 6 weeks, 12 weeks, and 24 weeks after operation in contrast to baseline. The difference of OHIP-14 between two groups at 3 and 7 days after operation was statistically significant(P<0.05). There was significant difference in scar score between two groups 24 weeks after operation(P<0.05). Conclusion: 3D surgical guide plate combined with minimally invasive corticotomy can effectively improve postoperative discomfort of patients with good aesthetic effect.
