Abstract: Mucinous carcinoma (MC) is a rare malignant tumor originating from sweat glands, with insidious onset and various clinical manifestations, such as cysts, papules, nodules, or ulcers, which are easily misdiagnosed in clinical practice. In this paper, we report a rare case in which the first symptom was chin nodule, which was misdiagnosed as a sebaceous cyst and finally diagnosed as MC. We discuss the clinicopathological features of this type of tumor and analyze the reasons for misdiagnosis, with the aim to provide a reference for the clinical diagnosis and differentiation of MC in the head and neck region.
