Research Progress on Repairing the Penetrating Defect After Surgery of Palatal Malignant Tumors

Abstract: Palatal tumors are common diseases in maxillofacial region. Surgical excision of palatal malignant tumors is the primary cause of palatal penetrating defects. The palatal penetrating defects can cause oronasal fistula and affect the physiological function of the mouth and nose. The repair of palatal penetrating defect is particularly important. This article reviews the methods of repairing palatal penetrating defect proposed by domestic and overseas scholars.
