Abstract: The definition of supernumarary teeth is that teeth come from dental sac in excess of the normal number. Mesiodens are the most common supernumerary teeth, occurring in 0.3%-0.8% in deciduous dentition and 1.5%-3.5% in permanent dentition. Supernumerary teeth always cause complications such as dental impaction, overcrowding, root dilacerations, or the formation of follicular cysts. The aim of this paper is to review the prevalence, etiology, diagnosis, treatment, and complications of Mesiodens.
