Research Progress of Mesenchymal Stem Cell-derived Exosomes in Temporomandibular Joint Osteoarthritis

摘要: 颞下颌关节骨关节炎是一种退行性疾病,其特征性表现为进行性软骨退化、软骨下骨改建。外泌体是直径约30~140 nm的膜泡,能够通过与邻近细胞膜融合在不同细胞间进行信息传递,介导细胞间的信息交流,在再生医学中起重要作用。间质干细胞的营养调节具有抗炎和免疫调节作用,间充质干细胞源性外泌体能模仿间充质干细胞的主要治疗作用,并且具有多系分化潜能,包括软骨分化和成骨分化。本文就间充质干细胞源性外泌体在颞下颌关节骨关节炎中的研究进展做一综述。

Abstract: Temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease characterized by progressive cartilage degeneration, subchondral bone remodeling, synovitis, and chronic pain. Exosomes are membrane vesicles about 30-140 nm in size. They can fuse with adjacent cell membranes to transfer information between different cells and mediate information exchange between cells. They play an important role in regenerative medicine. The nutritional regulation of mesenchymal stem cells has anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects. Mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes can mimic the main therapeutic effects of mesenchymal stem cells, and have multi lineage differentiation potential, including cartilage differentiation and osteogenic differentiation. This article reviews the role of mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes in the treatment of temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis.
