Design of Visual Virtual Oral Implantation System Based on CBCT.

Abstract: Objective: To help medical staff perform the oral implant operation, based on CBCT data,an visual virtual implantation system was designed and realized. Methods: With the aid of the visualization algorithm in VTK kit, the system was compiled in VS platform. First, CBCT data were read and interpreted by the system. Then, the images of transverse, coronal and sagittal planes were generated and displayed in the system interface. After that, a surface model of the jaws was reconstructed through MC method. Finally, implant was selected and placed on a proper place in the model. Results: Virtual implant was realized using this system. Conclusion:The visual system can help medical staff plan operation scheme and communicate with the patients.
