Research Progress of Tea Polyphenols in Prevention and Treatment of Periodontitis.

Abstract: Tea polyphenols are the natural compounds purified from tea. Their effects on disease prevention and health promoting have attracted increasing attention. This paper reviews the effects of tea polyphenols on antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-bone resorption, and bioavailability of periodontitis, so as to provide a reference for basic study and clinical application of tea polyphenols on the prevention and treatment of periodontitis.
