Abstract: Impacted mandibular second molars are rare, and occur on only one side of the mandible generally. Hyperplastic dental follicles are entities with few cases described to date, and most of them are accompanied with impacted teeth. This case report presented a deeply impacted mandibular second molar with hyperplastic dental follicle, and the roots of the tooth adjoined the lower margin of the mandible. A minimally invasive surgical procedure was performed to extract the tooth and curettage the dental follicle, which came to a favorable prognosis.
