Abstract: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a type of disease characterized by chronic and recurrent inflammatory reactions and intestinal damage, but its pathogenesis remains unclear. In recent years, the correlation between IBD and oral diseases has aroused more and more attention. Many evidences suggest that oral microorganisms may be involved in the development of IBD. Some specific bacteria in the oral cavity may translocate and colonize the intestinal tract, affecting the intestinal microbe, destroying the intestinal barrier, and causing abnormal immune reactions, and then affect the development of IBD. The study of characteristics of IBD-related oral flora and key pathogens can provide new ideas for diagnosis and treatment of IBD.
