Progress of Research Aiming at Improving the Effect of Photodynamic Therapy

Abstract

Abstract: Due to its high efficiency, minimal invasiveness, and protection of the function and appearance of treated area, photodynamic therapy (PDT) is considered as a therapy with great potential for treating oral mucosal diseases. This paper reviewed the application and limitations of PDT in oral mucosal diseases and mainly focused on the progress of researches aiming at improving the effect of PDT.
