Abstract: Epigenetic regulation refers to the regulation of gene expression through epigenetic modification without alteration of genetic material sequence. N6-methyladenosine (m6A) RNA methylation is one of regulation approaches. The expression level of target RNA is modified by methyltransferase, demethylase, and recognition protein. This article reviews the role and mechanism of m6A and its regulatory molecules in oral development and regeneration, oral inflammatory diseases, and oral tumor diseases.

Key words: epigenetics, m6A modification, m6A regulators, target RNA
