Abstract: The maxillary posterior region usually lacks sufficient bone mass and cannot support the implant. Through maxillary sinus floor lifting, the bone graft material is filled between the sinus mucosa and the bone plate, which can effectively increase the available bone height and keep the implant stable for a long time. As a platelet concentrate product instead of autogenous bone graft, platelet rich fibrin has the advantages of self-osteogenesis, simple preparation, low price, and so on. In this paper, the progress of platelet rich fibrin in replacing bone graft material for osteogenesis in maxillary sinus augmentation is reviewed.
