Abstract: Because of multidirectional differentiating potentials, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) are considered as an important source of seed cells in tissue engineering. However, how to induce BMSCs into the target cells is challenging. Biomechanical signals can affect the differentiation of BMSCs by multiple ways such as loading types, intensity, frequency, and duration time of stress. The degree and directions of differentiation of MSCs are dependent on the interaction of BMSCs-extracellular matrix (ECM), cytoskeleton reorganization and reconstruction, integrin signal pathway and ion channels change, and focal adhesion formation in the process of cell transduction.
