Abstract: The dental pulp may suffer irreversible damage due to reasons such as dental caries and trauma. Currently, most clinical treatments for pulpitis are root canal therapy. However, root canal therapy has certain limitations, and research and development of pulp-preserving treatment options are imperative. Epigenetic modifications, which mainly include DNA methylation, histone methylation, histone acetylation, and non-coding RNAs, can regulate cellular states without altering genes. With the in-depth study of epigenetics, its application in the inflammatory regeneration of dental pulp has made certain breakthroughs. This paper will provide an overview of the research progress on the application of epigenetic modifications in the treatment of dental pulp inflammatory regeneration.
