Abstract: Objective: To investigate the clinical manifestation, pathological characteristics, diagnosis, therapy and prognosis of Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) of parotid gland. Methods: Six cases of IMT of parotid gland treated in our hospital from 2011 to 2015 were reviewed and analyzed. Results: Six patients, composed of 3 male and 3 female (age 6-75 years), had the IMT of parotid gland in superficial lobe. All the patients were treated by surgery, while 2 of them received hormone therapy after surgery. The patients were followed up for 2-5 years with no recurrence. Conclusion: IMT is a rare benign neoplasm. It is composed of large amounts of spindle cells and infiltrating inflammatory cells such as lymphocytes and plasma cells. IMT of parotid gland is more rare and easy to misdiagnose. Diagnose is relied on the pathology. Treatment is mostly relied on surgery with supplementary hormonotherapy. Prognosis is good and recurrence rate is relatively low
