Abstract: Oral squamous cell carcinoma is the most common malignant tumor in the oral and maxillofacial region. The surgical treatment is the routine treatment strategy.Nevertheless, there exist several risks and the reduced life quality after treatment. The conventional chemotherapy and radiotherapy will impair normal tissue in high concentration.Nano targeted drug delivery system is a new treatment technology with aim to treat malignant tumors accurately and improve therapeutic effect. This technology has made great progress in other parts of human body, but not enough in the area of oral squamous cell carcinoma. As treatment technology is developing rapidly, how to improve the efficiency and safety about and monitor the result of nano targeted drug delivery have become a new challenge, whichcontributes to the evaluating of instant therapeutic effect. In this paper, the progress of nano targeted drug delivery system in diagnosis and treatment of oral squamous cell carcinoma in recent years were reviewed.
