Abstract: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is one of the most common malignant tumors of the head and neck. Currently the 5-year survival rate of the patients is only about 60%. Difficulties for early diagnosis and precise treatment are important factors for its poor prognosis. One of the reasons is the lack of relevant tumor biomarkers for early screening and precise diagnosis. Researches have shown that, similar to other malignant tumors, OSCC also undergone significant metabolic reprogramming. Therefore, for altered obtaining changed metabolic enzymes and metabolites by metabolomics may be helpful for early screening and precise diagnosis of OSCC. This review shows the findings of metabolomics related to OSCC in recent years and hope to present new ideas or methods for improving the early diagnosis and precise therapy of OSCC patients, and advancing their survival rate.
