Abstract: Successful integration of dental implant with gingival connective tissue plays an extremely crucial role on the longtime survival of the implant. Good soft tissue sealing is related to the roughness of pure titanium surface. The adhesion and proliferation of fibroblasts on the implant surface in soft tissue is the key to establish and maintain a good mucosal sealing. In recent years, researchers have performed many in vitro and in vivo experiments to study the relationship between surface roughness of pure titanium and fibroblasts. In this paper, the research progress of the influence of surface roughness of pure titanium implants on the growth of fibroblasts is reviewed, with aim to provide a theoretical basis for the future development of oral implant.
