Abstract: Objective: To examine the effect of tea polyphonenol (TP) on secretion and expression of toll like receptor 4(TLR4) of human periodontal ligament cells(PDLCs) stimulated by lippolysaccharide. Methods: We isolated PDLCs externally and cultured them. For TP experimental group we used different combination of LPS and TP different concentration, and for the matched group we used DMEM nutrient solutions of 1% FBS. All groups were cultured by 24 h, 48 h and 72 h. The level of TLR4 was examined by ELISA and real-time PCR. Results: 100 μg·mL-1 LPS can significantly enhance the secretion and expression of TLR4 (P<0.05) , and TP significantly inhibits the secretion and expression of TLR4. Conclusion: TP can induce the secretion and expression of PDLCs stimulated by LPS.
